In connection with the comments in some mass media that the SEED mission of IAEA in Belarus that took place from 16 to 20 January 2017 "was not comprehensive", the Ministry of energy of the Republic of Belarus gives following clarification.
The decision to carry conduct the SEED-mission was done by the Belarusian side in accordance with the recommendations set out in the decision of the 6th meeting of the parties to the Espoo Convention as additional measures to improve confidence between countries.
Belarus provided the SEED mission with all requested information, Belarusian Deputy Energy Minister Mikhail Mikhadyuk said at the presentation of the results of the IAEA SEED mission in Belarus on 20 January, BelTA has learned.

The SEED team reviewed the design parameters of the nuclear power plant the country is constructing against external hazards specific to the site at Ostrovets, northern Belarus. The team also reviewed the authorities’ characterization of site hazards and the process for screening them, and exchanged views with the host on challenges related to external events in light of lessons from the Fukushima Daiichi accident.
