Mikhail Filimonov has spent more than 40 years of his career in energy construction, 15 of which he devoted to Belarusian NPP.
For conscientious work, high professionalism and significant contribution to the implementation of the project to build a nuclear power plant, the first general director of Belarusian NPP was awarded the Order of Labor Glory, personally presented by the President of the Republic of Belarus.
Mikhail Filimonov:
"I had a dream to build a nuclear power plant from the very beginning of my working life. Back in 1985, I got a job at the construction of Minsk Nuclear Thermal Power Plant. But Chernobyl did not allow my dream to come true.
The decision of the Head of State to build Belarusian NPP became significant and fateful not only for me, but for the entire country. I was given great trust: to head such a serious project.
A great amount of work has been done from the beginning of construction to the commissioning of the power units. Belarusian NPP is the result of the coordinated work of an entire team. These people are craft professionals. I am proud that I had the opportunity to work with them on such a large-scale project. And now we have our own nuclear power plant. I want to thank everyone who has walked this path with me. Without a doubt, this is the most modern and reliable project in the world today!"
Many warm words and wishes were addressed to Mikhail Filimonov. The first general director of Belarusian NPP was awarded the first badge at the station "For the personal contribution" of the employees of the Republican Unitary Enterprise "Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant" and the badge "For the construction of Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant".
The Director General of Belarusian NPP, Sergei Bobovich, presented a letter of gratitude to the “hero of the occasion” for his dedicated work, high professionalism and competence in the construction of the first nuclear power plant in the Republic of Belarus from the entire team of the enterprise.
