The first power unit of Belarusian nuclear power plant has generated the first billion kWh of electricity since its inclusion in the unified energy system of the country.
Currently, the first block continues the stage of pilot operation, testing systems and equipment at the nominal power level.
With the commissioning of two power units of BelNPP into commercial operation, electricity generation will amount to about 18 billion kWh per year. The plant will provide about 40% of internal electricity needs and will replace about 4.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually.
