The press event was timed to the 24th Belarusian Energy and Environmental Forum and has already become traditional.
However, the press tour program was not at all traditional. For the first time, journalists saw not only the facilities of the nuclear power plant, but also units of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus, designed to protect Belarusian nuclear power plant both from air attacks and in case of emergencies.
The commander of the unit, Andrei Dolbik, told reporters about the activities and equipment of the anti-aircraft missile unit that provides air defense for the NPP. Media representatives were demonstrated the skills of the personnel of the unit and weapons models that would provide reliable protection for the nuclear power plant.
In the fire emergency rescue unit near the nuclear power plant under construction, the rescuers showed the skills of emergency responders, and the unit commander, Konstantin Lazovsky, spoke about the history of the unit formation, its activities and gave a detailed description of the technique and equipment that the part of the Ministry of Emergency Situations is equipped with.
Visiting the construction site of Belarusian NPP, journalists evaluated the degree of its readiness and received the necessary comments from the heads of the workshops.
Following the results of the press tour, a press conference was held during which Vasily Polyukhovich, director of the nuclear energy department of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Belarus, Mikhail Filimonov, general director of Belorussian NPP state enterprise, and Vitaliy Polyanin vice president-director of Belarusian NPP construction project of JSC ASE IC answered questions from media representatives.
