Preparation for the autumn-winter period at Belarusian NPP is an ongoing process, beginning immediately after the conclusion of the previous season. A set of organizational and technical measures was developed as early as May 2025. Specialists from the support systems shop, together with the plant's technical and operational units, analyzed the operation of heat-generating and heat-utilization equipment.
Within the framework of the approved plans, a wide range of works was carried out to ensure reliability and safety during the cold season:
- Equipment maintenance and routine repairs were completed.
- Heating systems for heat consumers were flushed.
- Measuring instruments were verified.
- Thermal insulation and paintwork on heating supply and heat consumption system pipelines were restored.
Of particular note is the significant increase in preparatory work: while the thermal energy consumer readiness certificate in 2024 included 76 facilities, in 2025 this number increased to 97 (55 facilities at the NPP industrial site and production base, and 42 in Ostrovets). This increase is due to the return of these facilities to the economic management of Belarusian NPP following the completion of the construction phase by the General contractor.
Thanks to the timely and high-quality implementation of the entire range of measures for the autumn-winter period of the facilities and systems of Belarusian NPP, the readiness passports of the boiler houses of the military town of military unit 7434 and the NPP production base, as well as the readiness passport of the thermal energy consumer, have been registered.
Currently, heat supply to Belarusian NPP facilities is being carried out in full based on the decision of Ostrovets District Executive Committee to begin the 2025/2026 heating season.
