At the production site of the nuclear power plant, the Governor of Sakhalin was met by the Governor of Grodno Region Vladimir Karanik, the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Belarus Alexey Kushnarenko, the Chairman of Ostrovets District Executive Committee Sergey Medzvetskas, the General Director of Belarusian NPP Sergey Bobovich, the first head of Belarusian NPP Mikhail Filimonov, the First Deputy General Director - Chief Engineer of the NPP Anatoly Bondar.
Valery Limarenko stood at the origins of the implementation of Belarusian NPP project. It is his signature that is on the general contract for the construction of Belarusian NPP on the part of the general contractor.
The bulk of the work on the construction of the nuclear power plant was completed during Limarenko’s tenure as president of ASE.
In recognition of his services in the construction of Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant, today the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko presented the Governor of Sakhalin with a Certificate of Gratitude.
Valery Limarenko, accompanied by the heads of the Ministry of Energy, Grodno Region, and Ostrovets District, toured the production site, visited the control panel of power unit No. 1, and spoke with the plant's operational personnel and the enterprise's management.
Following the visit, the Governor of Sakhalin left a note in the Book of Distinguished Guests of the enterprise.
