The second power unit of the BelNPP generated the first billion kilowatt-hours of electricity
This is the first significant production result of the power unit, achieved within the framework of its pilot operation.
The implementation of the milestone program continues. The development of the capacity of the second power unit at 50%, 75%, 90%, 100% of the nominal has been successfully carried out. Technological systems and equipment are tested. In the near future, they will be made in various operating modes of the unit, including its unloading with disconnection from the network for subsequent assessment of the equipment characteristics before its comprehensive testing at design capacity.
With the commissioning of the second power unit into commercial operation, the nuclear power plant will generate about 18.5 billion kWh. electricity per year, which will replace about 4.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas.
