Information.
Stress tests of Belarusian NPP were carried out in 2016-2018 according to the procedure of the European Union. The aim was to assess the plant's ability to withstand external adverse natural influences and their combination. The stress tests included three stages: the self-assessment of Belarusian NPP, the national assessment and the ENSREG peer review.
The National Action Plan was formed by Gosatomnadzor together with parties concerned in 2019, its activities are aimed at long-term increase in the safety margins of Belarusian NPP.
The first phase of ENSREG's peer review for the National Action Plan is completed in Q1 2021. ENSREG experts considered 7 priority issues that were important to analyze before the commissioning of power unit No. 1 of Belarusian NPP. The main conclusion is that Belarus has duly taken into account in the National Action Plan all the recommendations of ENSREG of 2018 and, prior to the commissioning of power unit No. 1 of Belarusian NPP, carried out the related measures.
