"The construction of a nuclear plant in Belarus is made in close cooperation with the state corporation Rosatom, which is a leader in the supply of nuclear technology and in the construction of nuclear power plants abroad, Viktor Karankevich said. - At present, both Belarusian and Russian construction organizations work at Belarusian NPP. The first unit has a high degree of readiness, almost all construction and installation work has been completed, commissioning and pre-commissioning operations are carried out. As for the second block, construction and installation work continues, installation of technological equipment, electrical and heat installation work is carried out."
The minister recalled that the Russian project of the three plus generation NPP-2006 was chosen as the most suitable for Belarus, taking into account the analysis of all aspects. The total capacity of the station will be 2,400 MW: two power units of 1,200 MW each will be launched.
