In the framework of cooperation of BNTU with Novovoronezh NPP, future Belarusian nuclear scientists come to Novovoronezh for the fifth year in a row. They get acquainted with the peculiarities of operation of power units with VVER reactors, visit the main structural units of the nuclear power plant, study the geography of the industrial site of NPPs with Russian design. Most of the students have already completed internships at nuclear power plants, while studying in the fourth year.
“The benevolence, high professionalism of the specialists of Novovoronezh NPP and the ability to clearly state the information is fostering the reinforcement of the theoretical material that we received at the university. The usefulness of the practice is very high. It allowed us to get acquainted not only with Russian nuclear power units, but also with the organization of work on equipment. The knowledge gained at Novovoronezh NPP will be the first step for us, nuclear students of the Belarusian Republic, towards the implementation of professional goals,” said Anton Sheshko, a 5th year student of the BNTU energy department, sharing his impressions.
Belarusian NPP is being built in Ostrovets region, Grodno oblast. It will consist of two power units with a total capacity of up to 2.400 MW. For the construction of the first nuclear power plant in the Republic of Belarus, a Russian project with VVER-1200 reactors of generation 3+ has been selected.
