The event was organized at the initiative of the Chairman of the Council of Elders, Vladimir Drazhin, with the active support of the Chairman of Minsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexei Kushnarenko, and the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Belarus, Denis Moroz. 

At the nuclear power plant, guests of the enterprise were met by the first director of Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant, and now chairman of the veterans' organization, Mikhail Filimonov, and the deputy general director of the enterprise for general issues, Boris Paramonov. 

The main purpose of the trip was reviewing the honored figures of Minsk region with advanced nuclear energy technologies and the current state of the country's most modern energy facility, as well as with the development of social infrastructure in Ostrovets district. 

During the visit, the delegation visited Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant Information Center, where the elders learned about the plant's construction history and safety systems, and received answers to questions about the safety and reliability of the nuclear power plant. 

At the production site, guests were introduced to the operation of a complete switchgear (330 kV switchgear), where they were shown modern, high-tech equipment that ensures the reliable delivery of generated electricity to the country's power network. 

During a tour of the plant's grounds, members of the Council of Elders assessed the scale and high level of production standards at the facility. 

In addition to industrial potential, the delegation paid great attention to the historical and cultural heritage and social development of the region. 

The participants visited one of the most beautiful and majestic Catholic churches in Belarus—the Church of the Holy Trinity in Gervyaty agro-town —which is rightly called the "Belarusian Notre Dame," and appreciated the well-kept arboretum. 

In the "city of energy employees" - Ostrovets, elders were given a detailed tour of the new social infrastructure and modern architectural solutions implemented as part of the state regional development program. 

Guests noted the high level of comfort in the urban environment created for residents. 

Following the visit, Vladimir Drazhin, on behalf of the entire delegation, expressed gratitude to the management of Minsk Regional Executive Committee and the Ministry of Energy for the excellent organization of the trip. He emphasized that Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant is a source of pride for the entire country, and Ostrovets represents a benchmark example of the comprehensive development of a modern and comfortable Belarusian city.
