Written by BelTA

Belarus offered the IAEA a technical cooperation project on the operational safety of Belarusian NPP, BelAES Deputy Director General Valery Senyut told BelTA.

“Belarusian NPP together with the Department of Nuclear Energy of the Ministry of Energy developed the concept of a technical cooperation project for 2020–2021 - Increasing the operational safety of the Belarusian NPP during commissioning and operation of nuclear power plants.” This project is based on the country's needs at the current stage of the nuclear energy program. The new program cycle of technical cooperation between Belarus and the IAEA will help in the development of a personnel training system, the implementation of an integrated management system, the improvement of safety culture.

The key structures that will be involved in the technical cooperation project are the Department of Nuclear Energy of the Ministry of Energy, state-owned enterprise Belarusian NPP and the State Production Association Belenergo.
